Security researchers have unveiled DDRop, a new hardware-level attack that undermines the memory protections built into Intel TDX and AMD SEV-SNP confidential computing platforms. By silencing write operations to a server's memory, the attack tricks the processor into treating stale encrypted data as current, effectively defeating the integrity guarantees these platforms rely on. Pulling it off takes an attacker who has already compromised the target's software stack and gets brief hands-on access to plant a tiny hardware implant.
